About Us
A typical brass band, Copthorne Silver Band has a history spanning 100 years. This very friendly non-contesting village band is close to Crawley in West Sussex, just 1 mile off the M23 south of Gatwick.
Playing a wide variety of music to suit all occasions, functions include local fayres, flower shows, bandstands, churches and other community venues.
Additionally we are available to play at private functions: such as wedding anniversaries, big birthdays and weddings!
The lifeblood of any musical group is its players, therefore we are always pleased to welcome new musicians into our midst. Players come from all walks of life, with some having formal musical training, while others are more self taught. All ages and abilities are encouraged to come along and meet us.
An special welcome is made to young people who may have begun learning a brass instrument at school and wish to gain further skills and experience in an adult group.
Subs equate to less than £3 per week, and the band has some stock instruments available if you don’t have your own.
